Should I buy a personal car?

Should you own a car for personal use now a days ? 

Let us examine this .The comprehensive insurance charges have almost gone up by 50% to 80% in last 7 years. Road tax registration have almost gone 3 times. The fines under IMV act have been raised 5 to 10 times. maintenance costs have doubled .I will not talk of fuel cost since public vehicles too have raised charges due to fuel cost . You have serious parking issues in colony where you live and in market place .Even if you get paid parking, it is very expensive Rs 50 to 150  for few hours. You may spend 20 minutes finding a parking slot and may as well walk 1 km after parking vehicle. The depreciation has gone up, since life limit for petrol cars is now 15 years and 10 years for diesel vehicles. And just in case you meet with an accident or ride over some body or jump traffic light you will face music and to top it all , rising incidents of petrol theft and car theft itself. 

So question arise should you even own and keep a personal car .After working out, we have come to conclusion that if you are not using personal car for personal or family use  more than 1200 km a month (no drier) .It is very cumbersome and loss making proposal with so many risks. More and more ideas are coming up in market. Radio taxis , shared taxis , two wheeled taxis and self drive cabs on rent. It is a well planned move by governments all over world to discourage personal vehicles. In many countries you cant buy a car unless you win in auction a car number plate first , and have parking space. Some people assert as if it is their right to keep 2 or 4 cars and vehicles. certainty not . Law is very clear that don't buy vehicle if you don't have parking space.It has been upheld repeatedly by highest court. Keeping 15 years or more old vehicle on road is again a offense now.It has to be scrapped with govt giving incentives.

 RWA office should act tough. Seek help of authorities. They should also keep boots (car wheel locking device) to boot cars parked wrong in obstructive way or on approach roads.You cant use community and political clout to bully people . Neither others should tolerate. Please call up traffic police if any body parks obstructively behind a vehicle and blocks approach roads। 

We  hope above legal, operational and economic analysis will enlighten residents to start de-congestion  of open spaces. Ambulance must be able to reach every house within 6 meters of distance from it . That is test. We request all to please make orderly parking system and not park cars behind cars and block approach roads. Who knows it may be you or family member needing emergency help in odd hours. Please stop throwing your weight around and group-ism to bully others .
